The Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) Security Office provides the necessary resources needed for the safeguarding and security operations of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The office's programs are designed to assess and mitigate risks. The office deploys physical security and technical security countermeasures and responds to occupant emergency situations while ensuring the protection of staff, facilities, mission, and other assets.

HCHB Security Operations Center

Department employees and HCHB occupants should call the 24-hour HCHB Security Operations Center at 2-2222 for fire and security emergencies. The center will respond, call 911, and provide building access when outside emergency help arrives. For non-emergencies or questions about security issues, call the center at (202) 482-4584.
