The OSY Eastern Regional Security Office (ERSO) at NOAA provides services in Silver Spring, MD, and at other NOAA facilities and operations east of the Mississippi River. These services include:

• Physical Security - processing requests for access to facilities
• Conducting Facility Security Assessments 
• HSPD-12 Credentialing - reviewing fingerprint results, ensuring appropriate investigations and documentation for common access cards and NOAA badges
• Personnel Security - processing pre-appointment requests for federal and contract personnel and adjudicating suitability investigations 
• Foreign National Visitor/Guest - processing in accordance with Department Administrative Order 207-12 and providing sponsors with support and training to ensure awareness of regulations and procedures
• Industrial Security - coordinating with contracting officers and NOAA program officials during acquisitions that require classification and facility clearance in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual
• Information Security - conducting initial briefings and annual training for access to National Security Information (NSI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
• Supporting operating units requiring NSI and/or SCI program administration
• Coordinating NOAA Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility needs with the Department's Special Security Officer
