The Office of Security (OSY) Security Office provides the necessary resources needed for conducting the security operations of and safeguarding the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and FirstNet. The office's programs provide security oversight to operating units; coordinate searches, evacuations, and other procedures to protect persons, property, and information; oversee the emergency responses and investigations of security incidents at all NTIA and FirstNet facilities; develop, implement, and maintain a program of reviews to ensure appropriate compliance with all security policies promulgated by OSY; conduct a comprehensive security education and awareness program to enhance employee knowledge of security requirements; facilitate requests for personnel security clearances for job applicants, employees, and other individuals to include those requiring access to Classified National Security Information(CNSI); and review suitability investigations for contractors of the Department.
