29th Annual Office of the CFO/ASA Awards Program

Congratulations to the recipients of the 29th Annual Office of the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for Administration (CFO/ASA) Awards.  We recognize the great achievements that these employees and teams have made for the Office of the CFO/ASA and commend our well-deserving Bronze Medal Award and Employee of the Year Award recipients for their impressive work.  

29th Annual CFO/ASA Awards Program - June 27, 2024

The Office of the CFO/ASA Awards Program, in the form of the Bronze Medal and the Employee of the Year (EOTY) Award, constitute the highest awards presented by the CFO/ASA within the Department of Commerce.

CFO/ASA Bronze Medal Award

To provide honorary recognition to employees for their outstanding and significant contributions to the mission of the Office of the CFO/ASA and the Department. 

Lucite-embedded Bronze Medals will be awarded to:

  • Individuals;
  • Groups (up to 10 individuals); or
  • Organizations (single or joint).

A Bronze Medal is the highest honorary award granted by an operating unit or Secretarial Officer or equivalent.  A Bronze Medal is defined as superior performance characterized by outstanding or significant contributions that have increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the operating unit.  To warrant a Bronze Medal, a contribution must focus on qualitative and quantitative performance measures reflected in the Department’s Strategic Plan.

CFO/ASA Employee of the Year (EOTY) Award

To recognize employees who have demonstrated exceptional and sustained effort in accomplishing the missions of the Office of the CFO/ASA.  

The award consists of a crystal tower and a cash award of $2,500, and can be given in the following three categories:

  • Management/Supervisory
  • Professional/Administrative
  • Support Services

Consideration are given, but not limited to the:

  • Importance of the contribution and the extent to which it served to contribute to CFO/ASA programs;
  • Enhancement of CFO/ASA service to the Department; and
  • Originality of the contribution and the inspiration it may serve to other employees toward excellence of performance.
