Office of Accountability and Risk

The Office of Accountability and Risk (OAR) serves as the central office for audits and human capital program evaluations. Our audits and evaluations focus on effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with merit system principles, laws, and regulations, and Departmental and Bureau-specific policies and procedures.

The OAR also serves as the focal point for the Department’s Human Capital Operating Plan which discusses how DoC will execute its human capital strategies. Additionally, OAR collaborates with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Office of Merit System Accountability and Compliance (MSAC), Agency Compliance and Evaluation (ACE) and various other Federal agencies on accountability issues.
