Jane Dokko

Jane Dokko

Jane Dokko is Chief Economist at the Department of Commerce. In this position, Dokko serves as an advisor to the Commerce Department on economic matters and analyzes domestic economic developments.

Dokko is on leave from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where she was a Vice President and provided strategic direction for the Community Development and Policy Studies team’s work to improve economic outcomes in low- and moderate-income communities through research, analysis, and outreach. Dokko has also worked for the U.S. Treasury Department, the White House Council of Economic Advisers, and the Federal Reserve Board. Her areas of expertise include housing finance, consumer finance, financial regulation, and local economic development. She graduated from Haverford College with a B.A. in economics and received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan.
