Research Terms and Conditions (RT&Cs) for Federal awards

The RT&Cs address and implement the Uniform Guidance issued by OMB.  For awards designated on the Form CD-450 (Financial Assistance Award) as Research, both the ST&Cs and the RT&Cs as implemented by the Department, apply to the award.

The RT&Cs as well as the Departments implementation statement, agency specific requirements, prior approval matrix, and subaward requirements are posted on the National Science Foundations website https://www.nsf.gov/awards/managing/rtc.jsp. The ST&Cs and the RT&Cs are generally intended to harmonize with each other; however, where the ST&Cs and the RT&Cs differ in a Research award, the RT&Cs prevail, unless otherwise indicated in a specific award condition.
