Gary Haney has over 25 years of providing technology services to government and commercial entities. 

Mr. Haney serves as Director of Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Commerce. In this role, he is responsible for providing customers with elegant, cost-effective technology services and solutions. He oversees Enterprise Services’ IT Tower, which provides support for robotic process automation, service management, digital transformation, and IT modernization. 

Before joining the Department of Commerce, Mr. Haney was a Managing Director with Accenture Federal Services where he focused on providing technology solutions for the US Intelligence Community. Mr. Haney’s work was primarily focused on application modernization, cloud adoption, and the establishment of community-wide IT shared services and software-as-a-service. His work received numerous awards including the Pentagon Memorial Coin for his support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Prior to working in the Intelligence Community, Mr. Haney focused on the implementation of enterprise-wide supply chain applications for large organizations, including Hershey Foods, Corning, and the State of New York.

Mr. Haney received his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Allegheny College and his Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Fellow of the American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC). 

Mr. Haney lives in Arlington with his wife and two children. He is a member of the Marine Corps Running Club and the American Baseball Coaches Association.
