MANILA, Philippines – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with Philippine Secretary of Trade and Industry Alfredo Pascual and Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go. Secretary Raimondo thanked both Secretary Go and Secretary Pascual for the Government of the Philippines' support of the U.S. Presidential Trade and Investment Mission and the delegation’s efforts to secure trade and investment deals across a range of sectors in the Philippines. During the meeting, Secretary Raimondo commended Secretary Pascual and Secretary Go for the critical role that the Philippines played in securing high-ambition agreements through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). She underscored the need to continue the strong collaboration between IPEF members as they work together to operationalize the Framework and deliver concrete benefits to the workers and businesses of IPEF member countries. The three also discussed potential opportunities for cooperation on resilient semiconductor supply chains, energy security and the climate transition, and digital upskilling.
