Readout of U.S. Secretary Raimondo’s Participation in the 12th Plenary of The U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum

BRASILIA – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo and Brazil Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade & Services, Geraldo Alckmin convened the 12th Plenary of the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum (Forum) in Brasilia, Brazil. During the meeting, U.S. and Brazilian CEOs issued the 2023 Joint Recommendations, aimed to improve trade and investment and strengthen the U.S.-Brazil commercial relationship. The new recommendations address topics including supply chain resilience, energy and circularity, food security and sustainable agriculture, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure and technology/digital policy, education, and space.

The meeting also featured the presentation of the U.S. Government Progress Report and highlighted the steps taken by the U.S. government to respond to the 2022 CEO Forum Joint Recommendations. Both governments remain committed to prioritizing the private sector’s recommendations to foster mutually beneficial economic growth.

The U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum brings together up to 12 U.S. and 12 Brazil CEOs to develop policy recommendations for the U.S. and Brazil Governments on ways to increase bilateral trade and commerce. The Forum is co-chaired by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and National Economic Council Director Lael Brainard on behalf of the U.S. Government; it is co-chaired by Brazil Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade & Services, Geraldo Alckmin, and Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Rui Costa on behalf of the Brazilian Government. Mr. Mauro Gregorio, CEO of Dow Silicones, is the U.S. private sector co-chair and Mr. Marco Stefanini, CEO and Founder of Stefanini IT Solutions, is the Brazil private sector co-chair.
