Today, Deputy Secretary Don Graves with Romanian Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja to discuss bilateral economic and commercial cooperation on energy issues. The leaders discussed the advancement of renewable energy, including civil nuclear, solar, and offshore wind technologies, as well as updates on the deployment of the Small Modular Reactor Public-Private Program led by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Deputy Secretary thanked Romania for its efforts to support Ukraine, its leadership in hosting the Three Seas Initiative, and its interest in working with the U.S. on supporting the clean energy transition in Africa.
