Today, Deputy Secretary Don Graves met with Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and the Federal Cultural Institutions Hadja Lahbib to discuss key areas of mutual interest including the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC), the CHIPS and Science Act, and supporting partner countries in Africa through the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII). Deputy Secretary Graves highlighted potential CHIPS Act funding opportunities and underscored that the U.S. government seeks to consult with partners and allies to ensure resilient production of and access to semiconductors. The Deputy Secretary also discussed U.S.-EU cooperation on semiconductors within the TTC, including mechanisms to help mitigate supply chain disruptions and to increase transparency around public incentives for the sector.
