Today, United States Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo and National Economic Council Chair Brian Deese addressed newly appointed members of the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness (ACSCC) during their quarterly meeting. During the meeting, Raimondo and Deese discussed the Biden-Harris administration’s supply chain policies and initiatives, as well as shared goals for the newly reconstituted committee. Attendees included senior leaders of the President’s Supply Chain Disruption Task Force, CEOs and senior executives representing several industries including freight, healthcare, and manufacturing, as well as labor, academia, and relevant industry associations.

Raimondo and Deese emphasized the importance of resilient supply chains to the health of our nation’s economy and discussed President Biden’s near- and long-term solutions to address supply chain disruptions and create more resilient supply chains for the 21^st century. Raimondo and Deese also outlined the administration’s whole-of-government approach to implement initiatives to increase American competitiveness and ensure that the American economy can build back stronger than it was before the pandemic.
