Come One, Come All: Registration for the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit is Now Open!

As Secretary of Commerce, one of the first events I had the pleasure of hosting was one of the Department’s largest and longstanding – the annual SelectUSA Investment Summit.

Organizing a well-known and typically widely attended international summit during a global pandemic seemed like an insurmountable task, but this past June the Department of Commerce rose to the challenge. We safely welcomed over 3,400 attendees to join us virtually to continue the dialogue on why, as President Biden asserted in his Investment Summit address, the U.S. is the best place to do business.

With vaccination rates continuing to rise, I am pleased to announce that the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit will be held from June 26 – 29, 2022, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Fortunately, thanks to President Biden’s leadership and the hundreds of millions of Americans who have received a vaccine, we will host this year’s summit in person, and will do so in a way that continues to put the health and safety of all attendees first and foremost.

I have witnessed the tremendous opportunities and collaboration that the convening power of the Investment Summit brings. Thousands of foreign investors actively connect with economic development organizations (EDOs) and service providers from nearly every U.S. state and territory to gain the tools, information, and connections their companies need to grow their business here.

Innovation and entrepreneurship were front and center during last year’s virtual summit, which saw robust participation from 8 Cabinet Members, 28 U.S. Governors, multiple high-level executives of major corporations and representatives from every single U.S. state and territory, as well as a personal address from President Biden announcing the Open Investment Policy. These themes will once again be a key focus this year.

The SelectUSA Tech program which connects early-stage and startup technology companies to prospects for advancement in the U.S. market, will again offer attendees the opportunity to showcase their products and services at branded booths with the chance to pitch their concepts to a panel of judges, participate in workshops and Investment Academy sessions, and much more.

I am also pleased to announce that Select Global Women in Tech (SGWIT) will be an integral part of this year’s Investment Summit.  Geared towards international women founders, entrepreneurs, and executives in the technology sector, SGWIT participants will be matched in sessions with experienced, successful mentors to help them develop market entry strategies, tailor their product and promotion for success in the U.S. market, have access to an exclusive networking platform, and hear from successful global women founders. I had the pleasure of announcing SGWIT’s launch at last summit and I can’t wait to see what this year will bring.

The Investment Summit will also support the Biden Administration’s ambitious actions to tackle the climate crisis. SelectUSA recognizes the importance of global climate priorities and has organized sessions at the 2022 Investment Summit to bring together stakeholders in key clean energy and related sectors such as advanced batteries, energy storage, civil nuclear energy, offshore wind and semiconductors.

The 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit aims to provide attendees with exciting chances to engage, explore and learn about all facets of potential business investment opportunities that the U.S. has to offer. Since its inception, the Investment Summit has generated more than $57.9 billion in new U.S. investment projects, supporting over 47,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.

It is no wonder that the U.S. was once again the top destination for foreign direct investment across the globe. We have a lot to offer companies looking to expand their horizons and I hope to see them all this June.

As Secretary of Commerce, I spend much of my time working with the trusted public servants at the Department of Commerce to ensure American businesses remain competitive at home and abroad. Events like the SelectUSA Investment Summit foster innovation and are exactly what our country needs to keep its competitive edge.

I know the team at SelectUSA is working around the clock to ensure an agenda just as robust as last year. I’m looking forward to sharing all that we have in store for the 2022 SelectUSA Investment and I invite you to apply and see how to further expand your businesses through U.S. investment.

Please be sure to follow @SelectUSA on Twitter and LinkedIn to remain informed on all 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit Announcements.

I hope to see you this June!

Please note: The Department of Commerce continues to evaluate health safety protocols to ensure the SelectUSA Summit is conducted in a way that is safe for attendees, as guided by CDC recommendations and state and local guidelines. We will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of negative test. We will actively update attendees on protocols to ensure they are fully informed about any additional requirements.
