Mental Health Awareness

Session 3: Wellness, Work-Life Balance, and Flexibility

 The focus for May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month, is understanding “wellness” and its many dimensions and how your benefits as a Dept. of Commerce employee can support your wellness.

When: Tuesday, May, 21st, 2024 at 12pm- 1pm ET 

Join Andy Green, Director of the Office of Policy and Benefits within the Office of Human Resources Management and special guest Lieutenant Commander Andrea Battle, Ph. D of the Public Health Service, a licensed clinical psychologist currently serving as the NOAA Fisheries Behavioral Health and Wellness Officer.

Dr. Battle has worked in government, military, hospital, and counseling settings over the last 15 years, providing direct clinical services, creating program policies, and providing mental health and wellness education and consultation.  She will be talking with us about how mental health impacts us at work, assessing our well-being across the 8 dimensions of wellness, and providing additional resources.

Mr. Green will then provide some details about the workplace and leave flexibilities available to Department employees and how the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can be used to support and enhance your wellness.
