Amaris Trozzo

Amaris Trozzo is an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel for International Commerce (OCC-IC). Her practice focuses on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data privacy, digital services, standards, China and East Asia as well as travel and tourism issues. 

Prior to joining OCC-IC, Amaris worked in the Government Law and Strategies division of a private sector law firm where she represented clients working in national security before Congress and federal agencies, offering counsel on participating in the Congressional appropriations process, engaging in the drafting and passing of key legislation, responding to agency inquiries concerning the implementation of cybersecurity regulation, and obtaining federal support for emerging technologies. Amaris also spent time working at a trade association where she supported member companies in their advocacy on the Hill, particularly focusing her work on cybersecurity compliance measures for critical infrastructure companies. 

Amaris received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center where she attended the evening program. During law school, Amaris served as an Articles Editor for the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law which also published her paper, Victim Blaming: Failure to Protect Laws as a Legislative Attack on Mothers. During her final year of law school, Amaris was invited to the Hague to present on the role of attorneys in national security, titling her presentation Pushing the Envelope in Cyberspace: Recommendations for National Security Lawyers as They Set Normative Behavior in Offensive Cyber Operations.”  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University. 

Amaris is a member of the D.C. Bar.
