Women and the Right to Vote: Informational Booth

The Department of Commerce is proud to join the nation in recognizing National Women’s History Month (NWHM). Observed annually in March, NWHM is a time to commemorate and encourage the celebration of the remarkable role of women in our nation’s history.

The official theme for 2020 is “Valiant Women of the Vote,” in honor of the brave women who fought to win voting rights and the women who continue to fight for the voting rights of others.

When: Wednesday, March 4th, 2020

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Location: HCHB Main Lobby

It’s been 100 years since the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted women the right to vote. Join the Office of Civil Rights and the HCHB Women of Commerce (WoC) chapter of Federally Employed Women (FEW) and celebrate this historic anniversary by visiting our fun information booth.  Learn about the DOC initiatives building on the work of valiant women and sign up to join the HCHB WoC of FEW! We will offer screenings of short films about women’s right to vote as you test your knowledge about women’s history for a chance to win some sweet prizes. All are welcome!
