Blake Roberts has served as Deputy General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce since January 2022.  Prior to this role, Mr. Roberts was a partner at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where his practice focused on congressional oversight, crisis management, and government-facing investigations and litigation.  Previously, he served in the White House Counsel’s Office from 2009 to 2012, where he advised on a wide range of oversight, litigation, compliance, and policy matters.

Mr. Roberts clerked for the Honorable Diana Gribbon Motz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Law School, where he was an editor on the Harvard Law Review.
