Hello. I'm Glenn Davidson, and I'd like to welcome you to Commerce Enterprise Services. We exist because of you. We heard you loudly and clearly that we can do a better job with both the quality and costs of mission-enabling services. That is, those services associated with our human resources, information technology, acquisition, and financial management functions. This led Departmental and bureau leadership to explore better ways of providing those services, and after much research and thoughtful consideration, our leaders decided to move the Department to a shared services model. Perhaps you've heard the term "shared services" before. This is a model employed by the vast majority of American corporations, as well as an ever-increasing number of state and local governments. And a growing number of federal organizations are also moving in that direction. By leveraging common systems, standardized processes, and specialized staff people, organizations experience a marked improvement in the quality, timeliness, and cost of the services they seek and need. And that's Commerce Enterprise Services' simple and straightforward commitment to you. We will deliver the services you want and need in a timely and effective manner so that you may focus your attentions and energies on performing the mission-critical work of your office. To understand the nature of the services we will provide and when we will provide them, please explore our website. And to get a better sense of how we will operate, please view the online version of our Ethos Handbook. Presented therein is our mission, our vision, and our core values. If my Enterprise Services colleagues or I ever stray from these principles, I hope you will call us on it. We're here to serve you and make your work life better. Thank you.
