Tim Bass

Tim Bass

Mr. Bass serves as the Director of Service Management of Enterprise Services (ES). He has been part of the ES team since it became operational in December of 2016. He is responsible for continuously monitoring, measuring, baselining, trending, and analyzing all aspects of service delivery for Human Resources, Acquisitions, Information Technology and Financial Management. He uses these analyses to continuously improve the operational policies, processes, and tools required to deliver high-quality shared services to the ES customer bureaus and their employees.

Mr. Bass has been with the Department of Commerce for six years. Prior to joining Commerce, Mr. Bass held executive-level positions in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Governor’s Office, Virginia Retirement System), New York State Government (Executive Chamber), KPMG LLP, and the 5th District Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond (Information Technology). Early in his career, Mr. Bass held senior technology positions in Reynolds Metals Company and James River Paper Company.

Mr. Bass has enjoyed ten gubernatorial appointments in his career by two different governors. These included multiple terms on the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities and the State Council on Technology Services. Outside of government, Mr. Bass also served on the Board of the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia.

Mr. Bass holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Computer Science from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. He is also a graduate of the Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Institute.
