Richard A. Dubik

Rick joined the Department of Commerce’s Immediate Office of the Secretary Team in March 2003. Prior to joining Commerce, Mr. Dubik served as the Chief of Information Security and Deputy Director, Joint Staff Special Access Program for the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also served as the Deputy Military Secretariat, Office of the Joint Staff, J-3 Operations. Prior to his Federal Service, Rick served in the United States Air Force for 21 years until his retirement. During the transition of Administrations, Rick also serves as the Acting Executive Secretary.

His office is responsible for overseeing or performing all of the administrative functions in support of the Immediate Office of the Secretary, including: budget planning and execution; personnel management; purchasing of equipment, including ADP equipment; travel processing; bill management; cell-phone negotiations; procurement and contracts; advisement on office management and procedures; and processing time critical communications in support of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Chief of Staff, and Executive Secretary. Rick is also responsible for the Office of the Secretary Security and Education program; Continuity of Operations Program (COOP); and is delegated by the Chief of Staff to serve as a member of the Secretary’s Continuity of Government (COG) team.

Mr. Dubik is a graduate of Strayer University. He received his Master’s Degree in Business.
