
Under Secretary Padilla Addresses Asian Economic Integration
Washington (July 7)—International Trade Administration (ITA) Under Secretary Christopher Padilla discussed Asian economic integration in a speech at the American Enterprise Institute’s forum, “Asian Economies in Transition: Will the United States Be Left Behind?” “America is more dependent than ever on trade with Asia; the region accounts for about one-third of U.S. merchandise trade, more than any other single region of the world,” said Padilla.
