NIST Celebrates World Metrology Day
Gaithersburg, Md. (May 20)—The Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) joins the world in celebrating Metrology Day, marking the 133rd anniversary of the signing of the Meter Convention, an international treaty on metric standards. As part of the day's festivities, NIST will host a symposium, "Metrology for the Olympic Games," which will feature speakers discussing this year’s theme—the importance of measurements in sports.
